Union Carpenters Honor Veterans on Wreaths Across America Day

NASRCC Brothers and Sisters from across New York State joined the National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, December 14th. Volunteers placed wreaths at nine cemeteries across NY to honor and remember our fallen veterans.

This annual tradition, led by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Sisters in the Brotherhood Committee, is a heartfelt way to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“The Wreaths Across America event is a proud tradition for our members from across New York. We look forward to participating in this special day that honors local heroes for their service, and this year is no exception. It is one small way that we can come together during the holidays to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifice our service men and women have made,” said Nicole Grodner, Carpenters Local 290 Council Representative and New York Chair of the Sisters in the Brotherhood Committee.

“It’s a nice way of giving something back to those who have given their all for us,” said union president Tim Hull to WHAM ABC13 here. “I’ve always gotten a lot out of it. They do a really nice presentation. The taps always get me and brings a tear to my eye. My grandfather was a World War II vet. He recently passed, so this is kind of near and dear to the heart.”
