A strong union needs skills, benefits and ACTION!
NASRCC Representatives Charlie Payne, Tim Craw and Lisa Clauson joined US Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, Massachusetts Congressman Richard Neal at Springfield Union Station to discuss and answer questions about Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Biden-Harris administration’s priorities.
The event was part of a national tour to talk about the bipartisan bill recently passed in Washington. Neal, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, worked for years to secure funding the completed Springfield transportation hub. The project, completed by union carpenters with Dan O’Connell Sons, JF White and other subcontractors, was hailed as an example of the type of projects that will be funded by the infrastructure bill.
Massachusetts is expected to receive $2.8 billion over the next five years to improve transportation options across the state.
Also attending the event were Springfield Mayor Dominic Sarno, Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia, Easthampton Mayor Nicole Lachapelle and Chicopee Mayor John Vieau.
