MASS and RI Agree to More Wind Power

The governors of Massachusetts and Rhode Island jointly announced their plan to purchase 2,878 MW of energy from three offshore wind projects. The agreement is a major step and will generate a total of more than 12,000 jobs at three projects: SouthCoast Wind, NewEngland Wind 1 and Vineyard Wind 2.

UBC members have already demonstrated their ability to exceed the expectations of developers involved in ongoing offshore wind projects in the Atlantic. An increasing volume of work has also been performed by members in coastal and port facilities that are serving as supply bases, transmission points or other support roles for offshore work.
