A strong union needs skills, benefits and ACTION!
Local 339 Sister Laurie Cahalane-Petchar was featured on WMUR News9 for Women’s History Month. Laurie Cahalane-Petchar used to work at WMUR, but she wanted a change of pace, so after a lot of contemplation, she decided to join the construction industry.
She’s a fantastic example of someone who embraced change and found fulfillment in a new career path as a union carpenter. Sharing stories like hers can inspire others who may be considering a similar shift or exploring different career options.
Laurie is encouraging other women to take the leap and get into the trades. “This is a very good option for anybody and is worth exploring.”
