A strong union needs skills, benefits and ACTION!
Meet Marc Marifiote, an Army veteran and a 4th-year apprentice out of Local 328. While attending a millwork install class, he took some time to create a special flag frame. The flag, signed by his unit, was gifted to him while serving in Iraq.
Brother Marifiote shares his union journey: “One of my close friends had just joined the union and told me about it. I looked into it and thought, ‘This is definitely for me.’ With my background in residential construction, I knew this was the right path.
The union has given me a great career and set me up for the future. My advice for anyone looking to join: get some experience in construction to understand what you’ll be doing. I love my job and it is 100% preparing me for my future especially with the pension and annuity. It lets you focus on the now and not have to worry about what’s going to happen later. Also, the health benefits are great with the union as well. If I had to go back and choose something I would still choose the carpenters union for my job.”
A career in the union isn’t just about the present – it’s about securing your future!
