Re-entering the workforce brought its own set of challenges for Carpenters Local 327 Amanda Bacon, but it was the game-changing advice she received that sparked her interest in considering an apprenticeship program. She calls the North Atlantic States Carpenters apprenticeship program and the Carpenters union her “golden ticket” as she went from working for a fast-food chain to becoming a carpenter apprentice, getting in on a generation’s worth of good-paying work with top-notch wages, healthcare, and retirement benefits!
